Using 'Load from USC-3' Button
Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Settings are stored on the USC-card after using the 'Store' button in Hardware Settings (via Settings - System - Optic)), but only a subset of the settings can be retrieved via 'Load from USC-3'. These are:

All settings from the sc_setup.exe at Hardware Settings → Settings.

Pen Settings without Ramping and the function Mark Lines as Dots. (The pen settings can also be saved in the *.sjf if activated)

Since this is not a complete SAMLight settings file, settings that are not loaded and might differ compared to the settings that were used when generating a job (.*unf or *.sjf), can cause unwanted differences or issues when generating the *.unf anew.

This functionality should only be used as a backup, when the original SAMLight settings are lost.

warning

This functionality does clash with our recommended approach that the PC is the master.

A careful and advanced user could use this functionality to load the settings into SAMLight if the systems using different USC-cards do not differ in SAMLight settings other than the retrievable subset (such as field size, gain, rotation etc.), but we would recommend using the corresponding SAMLight settings file instead,
