There are two different ways to realize the power supply of your USC-1 card.
We list both methods here, but we always recommend using the second one.
•USB power supply from your PC. For this configuration the Jumper JP4 has to be closed.
•External power supply via the 37-Pin Laser, I/O connector. We always recommend this method since it is more stable and the system is independent from a stable USB-power supply from your PC.
The USC card needs up to three power supplies which are provided via the 37-pin connector of the USC card:
1.USC Main Power
2.USC Opto-coupled outputs and inputs (OPTO_OUT and OPTO_IN)
3.Optionally: Opto-coupled Laserports

Table 2: USC Power Connection
[a]: Usually the laser requires 5V signals. If needed the Opto_VCC can be supported with up to 24V.
When you power up the USC-1 card, the green LED will flash constantly until the board is connected via USB to the PC and the sc_usc_server.exe is running.
The USC-Server will be introduced later in this manual.
After finishing the power supply you can continue with the wiring of the laser connection.
