In the following chapters you will find an overview of the background camera as well as a guide to set it up. Background Camera is a feature for the integration of the picture of an off-axis webcam to allow a comfortable job handling. The tool is able to compensate optical distortions/rotations. You can find a guide for its calibration here. Camera devices are supported through the UVC class driver and must be compatible with UVC 1.1.

Background Image: Activate the Feature. Some prerequisites need to be made which you can find here. Source: Select whether the background image uses a camera or a file. Camera: Select the camera which should be used for the background and set the resolution of it. There will be two options per connected camera. DSHOW relates to the DirectShow-API option. In the other option Windows Media Foundation is used. Should issues occur with one of the options a change might solve it. Additionally, you can set the maximum frames per second which are displayed. For this input "-1" represents no limit to the frames and SAMLight will use the maximum possible rate. File: Select a file which is displayed in the background. You can additionally set whether it is updated and in which interval. Crop Source: Enables you to crop the required percentile of the top, bottom, left and right of the image. Calibration: Calibrate the image to fit your needs. The used calibration fit is linear and uses 4 points. You can find how to correctly calibrate your job here. Create Calibration Job: Create the calibration job which you can use to calibrate your background. Calibrate: Calibrates the background camera according to the data of the previously set calibration job. Background Points: Shows the 4 points used to calibrate the current background. It will lead you here. Modify Camera Image: Modify the image according to your needs. Brightness [%]: Increase or decrease the brightness of the image. Contrast [%]: Increase or decrease the contrast of the image. Manual Focus [%]: Set the manual focus of the image. Camera Defaults: Automatically uses the camera defaults saved on the camera for the previous three entries. View Modification: Modify the way the image is perceived. Entity Transparency: Select the transparency of the background image. Underneath the image the default SAMLight background will be visible. Crop Image to Working Area: Crops the image in a way that no parts of the image will be shown beyond the working area. |
