For marking a data matrix with a design of dots, depending on the data matrix chosen after creating a BarCode, the following can be done:
1.For DataMatrixEx, activate "Generate Dots" in the Extended Dialog.
2.For all other Data matrix types, the following should be done:
a.Create a data matrix and choose the desired data matrix type
b.Calculate the size of a single module of the data matrix. For quadratic BarCodes:
Size of one single module = x_length of the BarCode/number of cells
c.In Hatch property page, Hatch the data matrix with the following parameters:
i.Distance = size of one single module
ii.Start Offset = half of the size of the single module
iii.Linereduction = very close to the start offset
d.In the Pen property page -> Drill, Enable "Mark Lines as Dots" and set the grid raster values to the module size
e.Enable "Use Geometry" and apply a hatched circle with a size smaller than the module
f.In the Pen property page -> Misc, Disable "Contour" for marking only the dots of the data matrix
