In the following, all initial settings that have to be done in order to mark a first grayscale bitmap are explained.
•Settings → System → Extras:
oEnable Improved Bitmap Handling mode.
oEnable Dynamic Grayscale Map and set the Interpolation to linear.
•Settings → System → Optic → Advanced:
oSet PixelAM
oDefine the Laserport as AM Port.
•Open the System Pixel Map and click Reset to default. (Mark Property Page → Advanced ...)
•Pen Settings:
oMain:
▪Frequency = 100 kHz
▪Power = 10 W
▪Mark Speed = 5000 mm/s
oScanner:
▪Jump Delay = 1000 us
▪Jump Speed = 5000 mm/s
oBitmap:
▪Choose mode: Gray Advanced
▪Acceleration Ramp: 2000 µs.
▪Set all other parameters to 0 µs.
▪Disable all other checkboxes.
•Laser Parameters:
oOptical pulse duration: 8 ns (was set in the Laser Software - not in SAMLight)
•Import the SCAPS Test Bitmap or another appropriate test bitmap (which shows black, white and intermediate grayscale values) and adjust the position and size.
•Apply a pen to the bitmap.
•Bitmap property page:
oEnable Scanner Bitmap
oSet GrayScale
oDither Step = 0.05 mm (1:1 ratio of the pixel distances in X and Y when Dither Step = Mark Speed / Frequency)
•Bitmap Extended:
oDisable all checkboxes. The first markings are done unidirectionally (bidirectional disabled).
