Default Directions
Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This chapter illustrates the default motion directions of Motion Controller Type 14 for the different Splitting Modes. The 1D Mark on the Fly Splitting mode is not considered because the default directions of this mode depend entirely on the MOTF settings.

This section lists all available Splitting Modes (Angular Splitting, 1D Planar Splitting, 2D Planar Splitting and Ring Splitting). For each mode and each available Splitting Option (e.g Fixed Size Splitting, Entity Based Splitting, ...), a table shows the default directions of the corresponding axes for the different combinations of:

oWorkpiece Movement enabled or disabled

oSelected Splitting Direction

A detailed description of each Splitting Mode can be found in its respective chapter. All available settings for each mode are described in the Splitting Settings chapter. Please note that not all settings are available for every mode.

Angular Splitting:

This mode requires one rotation axis, which is referred to as R in the tables. More information about this Splitting mode can be found in the Angular Splitting chapter.

Vector Marking - Fixed Size Splitting:

The following table shows the default movement direction of the rotation axis (R) for all combinations of the Workpiece Movement setting and Splitting Direction.

1D Planar Splitting:

This mode requires one position axis, which is referred to as X in the tables. More information about this Splitting mode can be found in the 1D Planar Splitting chapter.

The following table shows the default movement direction of the position axis (X) for all combinations of the Workpiece Movement setting and Splitting Direction.

Vector Marking - Character Based Splitting:

The following table shows the default movement direction of the position axis (X or Y) for all combinations of the Workpiece Movement setting and Splitting Direction.

note

Although the table uses X and Y to indicate the possible axis movement directions, this splitting option requires only a single position axis.

2D Planar Splitting:

This mode requires two position axes, which are referred to as Y and X in the table. More information about this Splitting Mode can be found in the 2D Planar Splitting settings.

note

This mode also supports Entity Based Splitting. For this Splitting Option, no Splitting Direction can be selected because the software marks the entities according to the order of the Object List.
Therefore, no default axis movement directions are available, as they depend entirely on the positions of the entities within the working area.

Vector Marking - Fixed Size Splitting:

The following table shows the default movement direction of the position axis (Y and X) for all combinations of the Workpiece Movement setting and Splitting Direction.

Ring Splitting:

This mode requires one rotation axis, which is referred to as R in the tables. More information about this Splitting mode can be found in the Ring Splitting chapter.
