Boot Settings

The SD card must be inserted in the cardholder on the USC-3, otherwise booting is not possible.
For the USC-3 card to boot, no special settings are required.

The boot time of the USC-3 is approximately 15 seconds.

About 13 seconds after the start of the boot process, the user-defined settings (which have been stored to the card) are applied. This means that inverted signals are loaded and the set states are reached.

After booting, the USC settings on the card are active. They can be changed in the following ways:

1.As soon as SAMLight is started, SAMLight settings are loaded to the USC card. When the store button is clicked in SAMLight (system - settings - optic - advanced), these settings are permanently stored to the USC card. Without the use of the store button, the settings are only temporarily on the card and will be lost with the next re-boot of the USC card. Please find further information in Flash Jobs and Settings.

2.The settings which are active after booting can also be changed via sc_setup. The state of Opto I/Os or DAC values ("apply now") can be changed and also be stored on the card via sc_setup. Then, they will also be active after re-boot of the card.

3.Another possibility of changing the boot settings is with FCI commands. The manipulation of some FCI commands can be permanently stored with the command SVG and will then also be active after re-boot of the USC card.
