The DB-37 is designed to check the output and input signals of the USC-1 or USC-2 board itself, as well as the signals between the USC and the machine.

The DB-37 has two operation modes. On the one side you can test the USC without a machine connected. On the other side you can check the signals when marking is in progress.

The Opto I/Os of the USC are also opto-insulated on the DB-37. Caused by the switching delay of optocouplers distortions may occur during marking.

The following signals can be displayed by LEDs or gripped with an oscilloscope probe:

Laser

Opto I/O (Opto_In0..Opto_In5, Opto_Out0..Opto_Out5)

Parallel port (LP0..LP7)

Analog channels (DAC_A and DAC_B)

Marking On the Fly channels

RS-232 (this signal can only be tested by software)

To use the functionalities of the DB-37 there is a special software in the following called "USC TEST".

For all tests, described below, the USC must be connected to a PC and the DB-37 must be connected to the USC.
