GS1 Barcodes

GS1 barcodes are a global standard for product, shipment, and asset identification across retail, healthcare, logistics, and supply chains.

Managed by GS1, a non-profit organization, these barcodes ensure interoperability and traceability in global commerce.

 

There are different barcode modes implemented corresponding to the type GS1:

Expanded

Expanded-Stacked

GS1 128

GS1 128 CC-A/B

GS1 128 CC-C

Limited

Omnidir

RSS

Stacked

Stacked-Omnidir

SSCC

Truncated

 

If selecting a GS1 barcode, for example GS1-DataMatrix, the application identifiers defined by GS1 have to be in brackets followed by its value. Application Identifiers are for example:
