The Code 128 barcode is a high-density, alphanumeric linear barcode designed for efficient encoding of large amounts of data in a compact space.

Developed in 1981, it is widely used in shipping, logistics, inventory management, and retail due to its versatility and automatic error detection.

 

There are different barcode modes implemented corresponding to the Code-128:

•Code 128 (Type C if the data contains only numerical characters)

•Code 128 Type A

•Code 128 Type B

•Code 128 (2)
