Possible supply voltage of the Opto I/O is 5 V .. 24 V. If an external supply voltage is used for the opto-couplers, the level has to match the used external logic and components. Wrong power supply or inappropriate components could result in hardware damage!

The OptoOuts are open collector. So the output signal is applied to the base input of an internal transistor, whose collector is called the open collector.
